After much writing and plotting I've made great headway with the story.
I had jumped feet first into the game plotting, thinking more of how I could make up different choices rather than how those choices would affect the story. I was over on Miro coming up with crazy tree paths of wacky silly things, which was fun but ultimately didn't tell the story I wanted to share. While going into scripting those original choices, I realized there were no consequences for players, and many things were left up to chance, and flowed more around mini games rather than the story driven game they'd be contained in.
It was all a mess, so I had to scrap those scripts and start over. It's tough to start something over like that, but as I've tried and learned new things, new crafts, I feel a lot better about starting over something that feels like it cannot be saved. So I jumped back to outlines, thinking of the whole character arc I wanted to showcase, creating multiple endings that would be the consequence of players choices. It was tough, and a little repetitive, but I'm hoping to iron all that out when I actually get into the character's voices.
Now that I've made this progress, I'm planning to take a small break. I want to focus a bit on a Halloween art project starring the cast, that I'm hoping to have finalized by the time the holiday comes around. If you're looking at my IG, you've already seen a couple of the designs. Basically I'm making Halloween stickers of all my characters to sell in sheet form or individual form. That way you can have them all, or just the ones you like. I've had the idea to make my own custom stickers for ages, and while I was doing a very DIY version with duct tape and printed paper, these will be the real deal.
So, this is all from me for now, and I'll see you with more progress in the future!
